BeamNG – Winter West Coast, USA

According to all known recent weather patterns, there is no way it should be able to snow in California.
Its climate is too warm for any snow to stick on the ground.
In BeamNG, of course, it snows anyway because BeamNG doesn’t care what the weather thinks is possible. : )

Jokes aside, this map features snowy roads (with reduced friction) and a bunch of other custom elements. The lower friction on the roads may not be the most realistic, but it’s really fun to slide around and do drifts that you wouldn’t normally be able to do.

I have been working on this map on and off for the last few months and it’s finally in a place where I am happy to release it. This is my first map mod, so if there is anything wrong or anything I missed, please let me know.

I tried to keep the mod file size to a minimum, so the majority of the textures and objects referenced are from the vanilla map files.

This may lead to some things breaking after updates, but I do plan on regularly updating the mod for game updates as well as my own aditional modifications, as this map is still somewhat a work in progress.

I may eventually release a separate winter themed West Coast map that has normal friction on all roads if it is requested enough, but I also want to focus on converting some other vanilla maps to be winter themed.

Don’t use Vulkan renderer with this map, the snow breaks glass textures.
